My Personal StashBusting Plans

Hello Fellow Stashbusters!
I'm so glad I get to say that! There were some nerve wracking moments after Cindy and I posted the Stashbusting Sewalong. What if no one joined? You all didn't fail us though and eagerly stepped up to the challenge. There are already some great projects and stash collection confessions on Flickr.
I just wanted to clarify, you can join in the Stashbusting even if you don't participate in our themes or challenges. They are just a way to add some fun and possible direction for those that need or want it. We all have our own personal plans for our fabric and here's mine!

Stashbusting Pledge
"I, Emily, commit to using my stash fabric in 2013 to make:
  • 27 garments
  • 10 baby or bridal shower gifts
  • Many other assorted projects. (there's nothing like being vague when you are trying to accomplish your goals)
I also commit to not buying any new fabric or notions except for what is absolutely necessary to finish something I have already started; until I can fit all my fabric on the shelves with no more piles on the floor.
I'm really tired of piles as much as I love my fabric. I didn't even bother to fold it nicely like Cindy did.

Tada! My main stash hidden in my closet/sewing room

My knit stash. There is a whole row behind that pile
on my floor.
Here's a closeup of my handwritten list of personal projects and a few photos of fabric I have definite plans for!
A pink summer Tira,
A burgundy and stripe fall Tira
A mystery, Emily goes crazy, blue and white vintage Tira.
(we'll see about the last one)

Shirts. From the bottom up, winter to summer,
all being long enough for my arms and torso.

More shirts! The grey for my Dad
The green and yellow for my "baby" brother.

The white dress in the pattern.
IT WILL GET MADE THIS YEAR!

Pants! For winter, summer and in between. This was also the
Sewalution I put In The Jar!

A list of my personal sewing which has already changed
and grown.
Let's see your stash, my friends! Post photos in the flickr pool or if you blog leave a link to your post in the comments below.
If you need ideas for our January theme check out Pinterest for fun and quick projects Cindy and I collected for you.
If you have no idea what I'm talking about or want to get a peek of what's ahead check out this page.

I am impressed by your stash! Ok, ok - I'm leaning towards joining because it sounds like fun and I could go through my stash and get some things done. I'll take some photos of my stash and come back when I've posted :)

Yea!! Thanks for joining us! We are going to have lots of fun.

I must admit at least 2/3rds was passed down to me from elderly ladies who knew I could sew, and a basement I cleaned out.

It can't be sign of anything good regarding my mental state that the pictures of your fabric stash have me wanting to jump into the piles just so I can feel the fabrics. It would be like the seamstress version of Scrooge McDuck swimming in his money pile. I guess I'll just admire them and drool a little instead.

Bwahahahahaha oh man, I know exactly what you mean with the Scrooge McDuck swimming!! I feel the same way, so if that sentiment is a reflection of your mental state, at least you're not alone!

HAHAHA What a great analogy!! Pretty sure I've been thinking, "Ooh I like her fabric! I need to get something like that." as the stash pictures are going up! Sewing definitely turns you into a touchy feely person. "May I feel your tie? Can I touch your dress? What does chambray feel like?"

This is actually something I was thinking of doing myself this year and I love that others in the sewing world are too! It will also be fun to see pics of everyone's stash. I need to snap pics of my own.

Yes! You should join us! The more the merrier!

Not sure I dare photo my variously hidden stashes (not all in one place you see.... looks less that way!)... but I need to get myself organised to do your pledge and get started!

My blog is http://sallysewssometing.blogspot.co.uk/

I'll go and search out this Flickr account now, and then think what I might be capable of pledging!

Impressive stash. Mine is not this big (luckily) but I also have several places where I store mine. This way it doesn't seem so big but also I lose overview quite often. Here's my stash - http://borsmentakreakucko.blogspot.de/2013/01/stash-confessionmennyi-is-az-annyi.html

Hope you can join us! I keep telling myself anything is better than nothing.

Looks like you have plenty to work with! Can't wait to see what you make this year!

Thanks for showing us your stash! I have stashes everywhere in the house: closets, garbage bags, clear bins, drawers, etc. I'm so embarrassed about it. I have stopped buying new fabric for almost 2 years and have been using only stash patterns and stash fabrics. But somehow my stashes are not disappearing fast enough! I'll have to take some pics soon.

Love to see pics! It's encouraging to know we aren't alone in fabric collecting. I'm inspired! Two years of no fabric buying! Great job!
